Pay business taxes & add a CRA payee

Pay your corporation, GST, payroll, and other business taxes quickly and conveniently through digital banking.

  1. Select the Pay & Transfer tab in the top navigation bar. Chose the Pay heading and select Pay business taxes from the available options.
  2. On the Pay business taxes landing page, you will see the headings:
    1. Use a favourite CRA payment
    2. Select a CRA payee*
    3. Select a business number
  3. Click on Select a CRA payee.
  4. Choose a business number from the list and select the payment icon on the right-hand side of the screen to begin the payment process.
    1.  To see your payment history, select the History icon (4 stacked dots with lines beside them). Here you will see:

      • CRA business number and contact name

      • Filing date

      • Payment amount

      • Confirmation number

    2. To delete the business number from the list, select the garbage can icon.
  5. Select a source account for the payment.
  6. Enter the remittance information ** and choose a payment date (immediate or future-dated)
      1. Cancel to stop the process
      2. Continue to confirm

    **Remittance information varies by payment type.

  7. On the Confirmation page, review the payment details and select
    1. Cancel to stop the process.
    2. Back to make edits
    3. Continue to confirm and complete
  8. Once your CRA payment has been successfully completed you can,
    1. Print
    2. Email
    3. Export the confirmation receipt to PDF, or
    4. Add the payment to your favourites list
    5. Navigate to other activities within digital banking

*Add a CRA Payee

  1. Select a CRA payee type from the carousel of CRA payee options.
  2. Select the large Add a business number button to add a payee.
    1. Add a business number by inputting a CRA Business number and description (optional).
    2. Select Cancel to stop the process
    3. Select Continue to confirm and complete the addition of a business number.
  3. Review the business number details and then select
    1. Cancel to stop the process
    2. Back to edit the information
      • Continue to complete the addition of a business number and to,
      • Print
      • Email
      • Export the confirmation to PDF
      • Navigate to other activities within digital banking
  4. Return to the Online Banking Homepage by clicking the Alterna Bank Logo in the top left-hand corner.

  4. Choose a business number from the list and select Pay CRA from the stacked dots icon to begin the payment process.

    1. To see your payment history, select the Business number history from the stacked dots icon. Here you will see:

      • Filing date

      • CRA business number and contact name

      • Payment amount

      • Confirmation number

    2. To delete a business number from the payee list, select Remove business number from the stacked dots icon.
  5. Select a source account for the payment.
  6. Enter the remittance information ** and choose a payment date (immediate or future-dated), select,
      1. Back arrow to stop the process
      2. Confirm to confirm

  7. On the Confirmation page, confirm the details and select.
    1. Back arrow to make edits.
    2. Confirm to confirm and complete
  8. Once your CRA payment has been successfully completed you can,
    1. View pdf, email, or share through apps on your device.
    2. Navigate to other activities within digital banking

    1. Add a business number by inputting a CRA Business number and description (optional) on the Add business number webpage.
    2. Select Back arrow to stop the process
    3. Select Confirm to confirm and complete the addition of a business number.
  3. Confirm the business number details, select
    1. Back arrow to edit the information
    2. Confirm to complete the addition of a business number and to,
      • View pdf, email, or share through apps on your device.
      • Navigate to other activities within digital banking
  4. Return to the Online Banking Homepage by clicking the Home button in the bottom navigation panel.
