Transfer funds

Transfer funds faster.

Transfer funds and pay bills faster from the homepage of online banking by going to Pay & Transfer > Transfer Funds.

  1. Start by logging in to online banking.

  2. Under Pay & Transfer, select Transfer Funds.

  3. Select the Account you want to Transfer from your own Alterna Bank accounts, linked external account (Me-to-Me), or another Alterna Bank account you have signing authority on.

  4. Select the Recipient account from the drop-down list you want to Transfer to. You can transfer to your own Alterna Bank eligible accounts, linked External account (Me-to-Me), or another Alterna Bank account you have signing authority on.

  5. Enter the amount into the Transfer details.

  6. Choose the frequency or timing under Scheduling and choose from the options Immediate, Future-dated, or Recurring and press Continue.

  7. Confirm your transfer by selecting Continue. Your transfer will now be complete.
  1. To transfer funds between your accounts, click Transfer to my account on the home screen or navigate to Pay & Transfer at the bottom of the home screen > Transfer > Transfer to my account.

  2. Choose:
    1. A source account
    2. Recipient account
    3. Enter an amount under Transfer details
    4. Enter a memo (optional)
    5. Choose a transfer type
      • Immediate
      • Future-dated
      • Recurring

  3. Select Continue

  4. Review transfer details on the Transfer to my account screen and select,
    1. "<" to go back and edit the transfer, or
    2. Continue to successfully complete the transfer

  5. Select:
    1. Share the details of the transfer by pdf, as a link in a messaging service, or by email.
    2. Favourites to name the transfer and add to your favorites list
    3. Done to begin a new Pay & Transfer
    4. View details to see the Transaction details.

Transfer funds to another Alterna Bank client

  1. To transfer funds to another Alterna Bank client, you will need to send an e-Transfer.

Transfer funds between institutions

  1. To transfer funds from your Alterna Bank account to an account at another institution, please follow the me-to-me instructions.
